The Brightspirit Relief Fund is holding an online auction to raise money for literacy, tornado and hurricane assistance, and animal organizations. Autographed copies of The Dark Dreamweaver and The Breezes of Inspire are among the items offered in the auction. The auction features autographed and personal items from authors such as Erin Hunter, Rick Riordan, Brandon Mull, Sarah Beth Durst, Clare Bell, and Jessica Day George.

More logging in Monarch butterfly reserve

Every year, monarch butterflies spend the winter roosting in Oyamel trees in Mexico, before starting their amazing annual northward migration. Unfortunately, these butterfly havens are under attack by loggers, who clear cut the forests for timber. In spite of efforts by the Mexican government and private groups to stop the logging, new satellite photos recently posted show clear cutting in a protected area which held large monarch colonies last year.

Hollywood Book Festival award

The Dark Dreamweaver just won an Honorable Mention in the 2006 Hollywood Book Festival awards, in the Genre-based category. The Hollywood Book Festival honors "...books that deserve greater recognition from the film, television, game and multimedia communities."

We're excited and honored to be included amongst the winners of this award. I've always thought that The Dark Dreamweaver would make a great movie; it's nice to have it recognized by people familiar with the film industry.
