More logging in Monarch butterfly reserve
Every year, monarch butterflies spend the winter roosting in Oyamel trees in Mexico, before starting their amazing annual northward migration. Unfortunately, these butterfly havens are under attack by loggers, who clear cut the forests for timber. In spite of efforts by the Mexican government and private groups to stop the logging, new satellite photos recently posted show clear cutting in a protected area which held large monarch colonies last year.
